Blackbird Literary Podcast

"Our podcast quilts together readings, interviews, excerpts, and narratives with soundscapes and original compositions. Episodes harmonize with and build upon the journals literary and visual art content. Unlike traditional print or other podcasts, our project elevates text beyond the page into multi-sensorial experiences, fusing established and emerging writers with original compositions and sound design."

In my last semester, Spring of 2026, I had the pleasure of being one of the Blackbird Literary Podcast's interns. For the podcast, we would recieve recordings of poems read aloud, and then construct soundscapes and scores to help elevate the reading. Weekly, we would meet in small groups to discuss progress, give critiques, and challenge creative limits. I completed 2 pieces for the podcast:

"Unsent Brother" by James Ciano, which is featured in Episode 3 of the podcast, and a poem called "You're Supposed to Enjoy Dying."

Since this second piece is not yet published, please reach out to me for a link.

Levels Up Residency

Summer 2026

In June of 2026, I was a member of Levels Up - a two week sound design academy taught by Brendan Baker at the ICA. Everyone I met is so wonderful and creative, and it was truly an experience like no other.

We each had to make a final project to demonstrate some of the ways in which we Level-ed Up. I collaborated with Shannon Burkett, and Mimi Luse on "Forehead Kisses." It features Shannon Burkett interviewing a mother whose child has been impacted by lead poisoning.
